From the very beginning, I’ll guide you through every detail— location, styling, wardrobe selections, and gentle direction during your session so nothing ever feels forced or awkward. Instead, you’ll simply enjoy time together while I document it in a way that feels natural and refined.
And when your session is complete, we’ll turn those moments into beautiful, heirloom artwork—pieces designed to be seen, felt, and cherished in your home for years to come.

The Process
Reserve Your Session
Family sessions can be done in studio or outside in local parks or beaches. Outdoor sessions are typically scheduled for “golden hour” (the hour before sunset) for best lighting. To reserve your session date on my calendar, a contract and session fee must be submitted. **The session fee is a non-refundable deposit that goes toward whichever package you select. Any remaining balance is due 48 hours prior to your scheduled session and can be upgraded at the viewing and ordering appointment (see below).

Once you are on the calendar, we will start getting into the fun stuff – planning your session! I offer family sessions in the studio as well as outside in local parks, so we can chat about what works best for you and your vision. I have a large client closet with dresses for moms and girls up through size 8-10 that you are welcome to utilize. I also offer assistance with outfit coordination and provide my clients access to an online outfit styling program that is super helpful in coordinating looks.
We’ll also look into options for any artwork that you wish to create for your family or home. I’ll ask you to really think about how you want to enjoy those images in the future. I offer many different types of art including canvas, framed prints, wood mounted prints, boxed matted print sets, and traditional albums. On our scheduled session day, you’ll come see me at my new studio in Downtown Mystic, CT OR on location at the selected venue. We will have so much fun documenting your family in the moment. I love to capture many candid moments but also make sure to get the posed family shot that everyone wants!
view the gallery
1-2 weeks after your session, you’ll be invited back to the studio to view your gallery, select which images you want, and purchase any additional images or artwork. All images in your gallery will be fully edited and ready to be delivered that same day. We’ll use some amazing software to custom design your wall art, ensuring you’ll love any printed pieces! All additional purchases will be done at this time, so I ask that all decisions makers attend this meeting. Most clients spend anywhere from $750 to $2000 per session.
FAQs
I have young kids that go to bed early. Can we schedule earlier in the day?
I know it’s tough, but I highly recommend shifting your little ones’ schedule just for the day of photos. If you can get them to take a later nap, it’s totally worth it to get that dreamy sunset light for your images. To offset this, make sure everyone gets something to eat prior to the session and feel free to bring (somewhat not messy) snacks and water to sip on throughout.
