Libbie Kate Newborn | Montclair, VA

This session ended up being one of my favorites to date! Pinks and creams and all the girly things…
::sigh::
I also thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Libbie Kate’s family. The girls and I had so much fun they decided to come back for a second round of photos with the boys! I’m so very glad they did, this family is truly beautiful inside and out and so much fun to be around.  All three big siblings have such amazing talents, I really can’t wait to see what’s in store for this special girl & I’m looking forward to seeing her back in the studio for some milestone sessions soon!
I always have a hard time narrowing down what to edit when well-behaved siblings are involved, so this gallery ended up being HUGE with so so many favorites, but here are my top 20(ish). <3

Willow Newborn | Woodbridge, VA

Katie was the first person I met when I moved to Fort Leavenworth at the age of 7. The first thing I said to her was “you’re cute” before we played on the playground across the street. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I had just made a lifelong friend. We kept in touch over the years and during the years that we didn’t live near each other, we were pretty epic penpals. I still have a handful of our notes about our current crushes and chalked full of music lyrics we were obsessed with at the moment (embarassing)  😉
When I had my first son, Katie was dipping her toes into newborn photography (I didn’t even really know it was a thing yet) and I was thrilled to have her take some photos of Daniel for me.  I’m so so glad I was finally able to return the favor by photographing her beautiful family with the addition of little Miss Willow!
Willow is the luckiest baby (as are the older three, of course) to have this amazing woman as her mama.  I also had the pleasure of finally meeting Willow’s dad, Fred. I tell you, this man was a trooper. They drove almost 5 hours (one way- silly traffic!) to come visit me and he didn’t complain once. I truly enjoyed catching up with you guys and seeing how big all the kids have gotten. I don’t know how to put into words how happy I am for you all and your adorable family.  Love you!

Luca Newborn | Edgewater, MD

One of the most rewarding parts of this job is being back in my home town and reconnecting with all my old friends from high school and college. The Coast Guard is such a small service, and I’m so thankful to cross paths with my CG family again and again.
Amanda and I spent a fun summer together hanging out in Boston when she had just graduated and I was going into my senior year at the Coast Guard Academy. Nine years later, we both have three beautiful kiddos almost exactly the same ages, and all opposite genders- what are the odds?! We had so much fun during baby Luca’s newborn session and he was so good to us- here are a few of my favorites from his session:

Zoe Newborn | Fairfax, VA

Zoe was my first newborn in the studio after having my own new baby girl, and boy was she just the epitome of perfection! She slept the whole session and curled up so perfectly in every setup. I had so much fun chatting with her Mom and Dad, who were obviously head over heels for her. I think it’s safe to say this is one of my favorite galleries to date!
Here are some of my favorites from her session:

Nora Newborn | Woodbridge, VA

So one of my goals this year has been to really work on blogging and so far I have not been making much progress on that front… but that is about to change! I decided what better place to dive in than with the newborn session of my baby girl, Nora, who was born March 5, 2016.
I can’t tell you how excited I was to try my hand at photographing my own little girl. I bought all the props thinking I’d have time to get all of them photographed (ha!), and wouldn’t you know, she just wasn’t having it. Any time I tried to get her settled by myself, all she wanted to do was eat. And I tried a lot! Luckily one of my best friends, Norma Fayak, is also a newborn photographer and was willing to help me out with some photo playdates a *few* times. She also took our official photos with the hubby and kiddos which are just beautiful. Anyway, here I am a month later, still going through images and editing whatever pulls at my heartstrings.
It’s hard to believe it has already been a month since she was brought into our lives, yet at the same time it’s hard to remember how it was without her here. She makes our family complete and I am so very grateful to have these photos to look back on. It definitely puts into perspective the importance of what I do, and how lucky I am that my clients put their trust in me to document such a fleeting time.
If you are on the fence about getting professional newborn photos taken, DO IT! You will never regret having these memories to look back on, and your kids will be so thankful when they are grown and find a photo of themselves curled up all tiny in your arms.
Here are some of my favorites that I was able to capture of Nora:
